Why Canada?
Canada is one of the primary destinations for international education and ranks among the top 5 destinations for international education. Canada is ranked third globally by the percentage of international students to the total student population, providing a diversity of experiences.
Did you know?
There is a clear pathway to Canadian citizenship if you study in Canada?
|
Unlike many other top destinations in these rankings, Canada has a clear pathway to citizenship after you successfully graduate from a Canadian education institution. Not all institutions, however, provide you with such an opportunity. Your journey after the graduation starts with a post-graduate work permit that makes you eligible to apply to permanent residence and eventually to citizenship. However, even with a study permit, you are authorized to work for no more than 20 hours per week during your studies, and full-time during the study breaks.
Work Permit after graduation
After graduation, if you chose to stay in Canada to work and contribute to Canadian economy and culture, you will need to get a post-graduate work permit, which is a work permit for up to three years and allows you to work for any Canadian employer.
Did you know?
Unlike many other countries, Canada does not require your employer to sponsor you for a work permit or permanent residence upon graduation
|
Anyone who wishes to study in Canada must obtain a study permit unless the duration of studies is shorter than six months.
